What is JPG?

Common questions
Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. Converting a JPG to PNG creates a larger file, but the artifacts introduced by the original JPG compression are permanent. The PNG will look exactly like the JPG — just in a bigger container. Always keep the original lossless version if you need to edit later.
